Olympus- Primary and Secondary Collaboration

Two schools. Shared ambition. More possibilities.

Meridian High School and Chestnut Park Primary School

When schools work together, students discover more than new places. They discover new possibilities.

Our collaboration with Chestnut Park Primary School brings our school communities together through sport, shared spaces and connections across age groups. With both schools part of GLF Schools, it reflects a shared ambition: to broaden experiences, nurture confidence and help children see what they can achieve.

Discover Olympus

Space to move. Confidence to grow.

From outdoor courts to fitness equipment and gymnastics spaces, the video offers a glimpse of the sporting environments at the heart of this collaboration.

These spaces create opportunities to explore different activities, embrace a challenge and discover new interests. Whether trying a new movement, developing a sporting skill or working alongside others, every experience can be a step towards greater confidence.

A partnership with benefits on both sides

For Chestnut Park pupils: a bigger world of opportunity

Experiencing a secondary school environment can make the unfamiliar feel more familiar. Meeting older students and exploring different facilities can help younger pupils picture their next steps with curiosity and excitement.

The opportunity reaches beyond sport: it is about feeling welcome, building connections and seeing what the future could hold.

Our partnership with Chestnut Park extends beyond sport and physical wellbeing into the classroom. Meridian’s languages teachers also support the teaching of Spanish at Key Stage 2, sharing their expertise to help younger pupils build confidence, develop their communication skills and discover the excitement of learning another language. This collaboration strengthens the connections between primary and secondary learning, laying foundations for future language study while encouraging curiosity about other cultures..

For Meridian students: the chance to lead

Connecting with younger pupils creates a meaningful opportunity for our students to develop as role models.

Welcoming others, explaining an activity and offering encouragement all call for patience, communication and responsibility. These are valuable leadership skills that grow through practice—and through recognising the positive difference we can make to someone else.

For our communities: stronger connections

Collaboration allows schools to share their strengths and create experiences together. It brings primary and secondary education into closer conversation, helping to build a sense of belonging across our wider school community.
