Community Engagement

Community engagement

Our vision is to become embedded as a centre of excellence within our community, therefore ‘community’ is an essential strand of our Character Curriculum.

We aim to support the development of our students whilst building strong partnerships within the local community. We do this by providing students’ with various opportunities to work with community leaders and local organisations in New Addington and wider Croydon.

Chosen Local Charities

Our students voted to support 5 key local charities that they were passionate about. Through tutor time and year group votes, our students chose the following local charities to support through raising awareness, raising money and volunteering opportunities.

The Good Samaritans Pop In- A Local Organisation set up to support the elderly residents of New Addington

The Family Centre- Local Organisation set up to support the community with services such as counselling, food banks and fun!

Centre of Change- Local Organisation that provides counselling and mentoring to the residents of New Addington

Crisis- Croydon organisation for those experiencing homelessness

MIND- The Croydon branch of this mental health charity

Charity Ambassadors

Our team of Charity Ambassadors are passionate about leading our fundraising efforts for our chosen local charities. These ambassadors attend fortnightly meetings where they discuss and plan fundraising and volunteering efforts and are proactive in creating opportunities to support those in the local community.

Recognising members of our community

We are keen to build positive relationships with local businesses that support and serve our students. It is important to recognise those that work in these establishments, especially when they go above and beyond in supporting our students. We have been proud to present local shop workers certificates of recognition for their proactive support of our students before and after school.
