Student Council Trip

The Student Council trip to the Houses of Parliament was amazing!

Firstly we had to board all of the buses, trams, trains and tubes to get there. The contrast between the sights of the hills to the residential areas and the iconic landmarks was breath taking! When we reached London the skyscrapers were astonishing! How could someone build a tower that high?

Once we set foot on London city concrete we managed to see lots of landmarks up close and everyone was simply astounded. That is the only word I can think of to describe how excited we were!

When we sat down for a break in the Houses of Parliament garden our eyes caught the streaming river that we all know as the River Thames. I was just as mesmerised as everyone else! It gleamed in the sunlight like a sapphire.

We finally had the chance to check out the Houses of Parliament; the pictures statutes and obviously the House of Lords chamber and House of Commons chamber. Our tour guide, Pete, explained the history of the majestic building so we fully knew every detail of previous prime ministers and MP’s.

I loved the debating workshop best. It really helped me learn more on politics and judgement. It was even more fun listening to everybody’s points and sharing my own views on arguments.

Overall the trip was marvellous and I thoroughly enjoyed my day, I would highly recommend visiting to anyone.
