GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

World Book Day at MHS

To celebrate World Book Day 2019 the staff of Meridian High School surprised the students by dressing up as some of our favourite literary characters today. Firstly I think you will agree that they have made a fantastic effort and the range of costumes is wonderful. Thank you all!

 

Moreover though, our students have responded wonderfully and have  actively engaged in a quest to discover each character. Throughout the day they have been listening to extracts from each of the books in various lessons and encouraged to do even more reading for pleasure.

 

Finally, a note to all of our parents. READING FOR PLEASURE IS IMPORTANT for your child's growth and development. Please help us us this weekend and get them to sit down and begin to read a great book/story, just for the sheer fun of it. Reading for pleasure will help them to learn new words and this helps to develop their knowledge, helping them to become more successful!
