GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

Language Ambassador Trip

On the 7th of February 2018, Meridian High School’s Language Ambassadors, along with other ambassadors from other schools, went on a school trip to SOAS (School of Oriental and African Studies) at the University in London. We had a tour of the campus, including the huge library above, and took part in a session of Mandarin where we learned the basics of the language.

During the second half of the day, we learned about the origins of Chinese New Year including The Story of Nian. We made our very own Chinese dragons and learned about the many customs of The Chinese New Year. This trip was incredible fun for all the participants and has educated us on Chinese culture.
