TfL and STARS Celebration Ceremony

On Monday 27th November, our Youth Travel Ambassadors (YTAs) were invited to attend the TfL and STARS celebration ceremony at The Camden Centre in London King's Cross. The students took part in a range of thought-provoking activities to get them thinking about active and sustainable travel in and around New Addington. They also had the opportunity to complete a Road Safety obstacle course and create an Active Travel zone for our school. In addition to these activities, our YTAs were given the honour of being asked by TfL to give a presentation about all of the amazing work they did at Meridian High School last year to help us achieve our Bronze STARS accreditation.

Since becoming YTAs, the students have developed in to very capable and confident public speakers as a result of undertaking activities such as delivering assemblies and participating in safe and active travel focus groups with external organisations. The presentation the YTAs gave at the STARS celebration ceremony was a fantastic way for them to share their amazing work with other schools and we are very proud of them all.
