A photo and a letter re the 1960s

Following on from the lovely letter we received from Mr Colley (link to that news article here) from Canada last year, this summer I received a letter from another former student; Mr Tom Bassett of Kent.  He was a student in the school from 1958-1963 and was the recipient of the Headmaster’s Prize in 1963.  Mr Bassett himself went on to be a Design Technology Teacher and has fond memories of both his time in (what was) Fairchildes School and as a teacher.  He has helpfully added the names to many of the staff in the original picture that Mr Colley sent and I am pleased to include an updated picture with this article.

Thank you to Mr Bassett for taking the time to write to me and for providing so many names.  It is lovely to be able to link the present day with the history of the school so strongly.
