Modern Foreign Language
The Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) department is passionate about the benefits learning a foreign language can bring. We strongly believe in languages as a skill for life and that learning should be fun and rewarding for all. From Year 9 students will follow the new Spanish GCSE under the guidance of the AQA exam board. The exam itself has a Foundation Tier (grades 1-5) and a Higher Tier (4-9) with four skills being examined: Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing. The four skills are weighted the same at 25% each.
The course objective is to enable students of all abilities to become confident and effective communicators in a variety of contexts on a cultural as well as linguistic level. Spanish study covers a range of themes, including: relationships, technology and media, music, sport, food, customs and careers. ¡Suerte a todos!
